作者从色胺出发,经过三步得到保护的β-四氢咔啉,其与多取代的对硝基苯酚在最优条件下发生氧化偶联构建苯并呋喃[3, 2, b]吲哚啉骨架,并经过后续的偶联,吲哚化等步骤,最终实现了phalarine的全合成。该路线是目前该天然产物最短的合成路线,极大地提高了该天然产物的合成效率。该研究表明,现代合成方法学发展对解决有机合成问题有巨大的推动作用,同时为后续生物活性研究打下了坚实的基础。
